How does it Affect Youth Today?

The type of racism in today’s and in old cartoons can affect hugely on the audiences perspective of racism. Since the main audience of cartoons is mostly children then when they grow up watching these cartoons with racism then they will take it as being okay and normal. Most Adults and some teens can see the racism in some of these cartoons but small children don’t know exactly what is going on, they only understand that the cartoon is amusing and soon later copy what they do in the cartoon.

Not only do the children copy and do what bugs Bunny does on TV, but they pay attention on what he does and of his character. They grow up seeing bugs bunny or other theatrical characters in being racist and start to think the way they do. If one of the characters on T.V mock or ridicule some other race then the children will gain some negative thought toward that race and grow up with those same thoughts. In watching all these cartoons the children will grow up with these thoughts of racism planted inside of them from them not even knowing. Who ever knew that watching cartoons can be so harmful to our children?
