I earned a BA at the
University of California, Irvine in Social Ecology in 1976. In 1977, I earned a
multiple subject teaching credential from the Graduate School of Education at UCI, and
taught 4th and 5th grade in the Irvine Unified School District. In 1980, I began teaching
6th grade at Cucamonga Jr. High School in Rancho Cucamonga. After working as the assistant
director of the Reading Game in Rancho Bernardo, I began teaching in the Poway Unified School District in Sept. of 1983. I taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade at Garden Road
Elementary School until 1992. I joined the charter staff of Mesa Verde Middle School as a
6th grade teacher. I earned a MS in Educational Technology in 1997. My project was on web
page design.
During my years at Mesa Verde and Garden Road, I have
served as: Technology Mentor Teacher, 6th grade team leader, member of School Site
Council, National Science Foundation Grant Member, master teacher, peer coach, GATE
coordinator, SIP reviewer, Key Planner, PTSA Teacher Representative, PUSD Science
Standards Committee member, Science Fair Coordinator, and as a member of many committees.
